PRODUCER TRAINING
The Fast Track Series Producer scheme is a ground-breaking new
training programme aimed at cultivating the next generation of senior
production talent.
The course, taught by some of the most influential programme-makers of
recent years including Robert Thirkell, TV’s troubleshooter and Series
Editor of Jamie’s School Dinners, will provide experienced freelance
producers with the key managerial, editorial and creative skills needed
to be a successful Series Producer.
The Fast Track will run over six months and consists of a week of
intensive masterclasses and practical workshops followed by two weekend
training sessions and a two further weekdays. As well as one-on-one
mentoring. It will also feature exclusive access to key Execs and
Commissioners through a series of networking events.
The scheme is open to producer/ directors – or similar – junior SPs or
Execs who are living in Wales and are seeking to hone their series
producing skills. The applicants will have substantial programme-making
experience. We are particularly keen to train those working in factual,
factual entertainment and current affairs.
The hands-on course will cover all the skills needed to series produce
with confidence including how to rescue material in an edit, people
management, handling talent, compliance, budgets and 360° programming.
